Iran on Sunday warned that any Israeli ground offensive in the Gaza Strip could escalate conflicts elsewhere in the Middle East.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held talks with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in Doha on Sunday, the eighth day of the war between Israel and Gaza.

“No one can guarantee control of the situation and the non-expansion of the conflicts,” he said, according to an Iranian foreign ministry statement. “Those who are interested in preventing the scope of war and crisis from expanding need to prevent the current barbaric attacks… against citizens and civilians in Gaza.”

War erupted after Hamas’s October 7 massacre, which saw at least 1,500 terrorists burst across the border into Israel from the Gaza Strip by land, air and sea, killing over 1,300 people and seizing 150-200 hostages of all ages under the cover of a deluge of thousands of rockets fired at Israeli towns and cities.

 

The vast majority of those killed as gunmen seized border communities were civilians — including children and the elderly. Entire families were executed in their homes, and over 260 were slaughtered at an outdoor festival, many amid horrific acts of brutality by the terrorists, in what US President Joe Biden has highlighted as “the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust.”

Iran threatens Israel over looming ground offensive in Gaza: report

Iran FM warns Israel of 'huge earthquake' should Lebanon's Hezbollah get involved

Iran’s foreign minister has warned that an Israeli ground offensive in Gaza would force Iran to intervene, likely expanding the war to other parts of the Middle East, according to a report.

Hossein Amirabdollahian made the comment during a meeting with United Nations envoy to the Middle East Tor Wennesland on Saturday in Beirut, Axios reported, citing two diplomatic sources with knowledge of the situation.

The sources told the outlet that Abdollahian said Iran doesn’t want the conflict to spill over to other parts of the region, but insisted that Iran will have to respond if the Israeli operation continues in Gaza.

Lebanon-based Hezbollah has considered all the scenarios of a war, and that Israel should end its attacks on Gaza as soon as possible. Hezbollah, a terrorist group, is supported by Iran.

"I know about the scenarios that Hezbollah has put in place," Amirabdollahian said. "Any step the resistance (Hezbollah) will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity."

When I talk about the war on cash and a cashless society, some people think I’m exaggerating the threat or they don’t take it seriously.

The proponents of the cashless society cite convenience as a major benefit. Why bother having to tote a bunch of cumbersome cash and coins around when you can just swipe a card or pay with your smartphone?

Besides, they say, cash enables criminal activity on the black market. Cash is the money of crime. And in some respects, they’re right.

Swiping a card or scanning your smartphone is certainly easier than having to get cash from a bank or ATM and lugging it around in your wallet, dealing with change, etc.

If you eliminated cash and replaced it with digital money, it would impact the black market (though they’d figure out a workaround).

Meanwhile, cash is costlier to produce than digital money and unlike with cash, you don’t need to hire a Brinks truck to move digital money around. No more bank robberies! And all those truck drivers and security guards can now learn to code!

You get the point. And that’s why the war on cash has been so successful. Digital money is simply more convenient to use than cash.

And the surest way to lull someone into complacency is to offer a “convenience” that quickly becomes habit and impossible to do without.
In reality, the so-called “cashless society” is just a Trojan horse for a system in which all financial wealth is electronic and represented digitally in the records of a small number of megabanks and asset managers.

Once that is achieved, it will be easy for state power to seize and freeze the wealth, or subject it to constant surveillance, taxation and other forms of digital confiscation like negative interest rates.

What is mind-boggling is that the Biden Administration criticizes Israel but then turns a blind eye to Iran's military buildup near Israel's borders -- all while Iran fires missiles into Israel from Syria, ships ballistic missiles to Israel's self-declared enemy, Hezbollah, and continues to threaten exterminating Israel down the pike.

The Islamist regime of Iran has repeatedly made its policy clear: it wants Israel to be wiped off the map. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who enjoys the final say in all of Iran's domestic and foreign policies, proclaimed to the youths of Iran that they will soon witness the demise of Israel and all of American civilization. In addition, Khamenei posted a Twitter tirade attacking Israel, and stating that "the Zionist regime will perish in the not so far future."

As a result of decades of extreme moral decay, lawlessness is rampant and there are vast multitudes of young people that openly flaunt the rules of our society. In fact, there are already some areas of the country that are literally on the verge of being ungovernable.

A perfect example of what I am talking about happened in southern California on Saturday. Dozens of lawless young thieves systematically looted the Nordstrom store at the Westfield Topanga mall, and they were able to get away with tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise…

Shoppers at the Westfield Topanga mall in Canoga Park were in for quite a shock when dozens of thieves ransacked the Nordstrom inside the mall on Saturday, Aug. 12, smashing displays and stealing an estimated $60,000- $100,000 worth of merchandise, authorities said.

Earlier this week a high-end designer store in Glendale, California was looted by dozens of people in another flash mob burglary on Tuesday.

At least 30 suspects “flooded” the Yves Saint Laurent store in The Americana at Brand Tuesday afternoon and stole clothing and other merchandise before fleeing on foot and leaving the location in numerous vehicles, said police in a statement.

The total loss is estimated to be approximately $300,000.

Cases of leprosy are surging in central Florida, according to a recent research letter shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Prolonged per person-to-person contact through respiratory droplets is the most widely recognized route of transmission. Leprosy, that is also known as Hansen disease, is a chronic infectious disease that primarily affects the skin and peripheral nervous system. It has been "historically uncommon" in the U.S., according to the CDC.

The World Health Organization says leprosy occurs in more than 120 countries and that more than 200,000 new cases are reported every year. As of 2019, Brazil, India and Indonesia all reported more than 10,000 new cases, while 13 other countries each reported 1,000-10,000 new cases.
The authors said that the Sunshine State has "witnessed an increased incidence of leprosy cases lacking traditional risk factors," with trends contributing to "rising evidence that leprosy has become endemic in the southeastern United States."

"Travel to Florida should be considered when conducting leprosy contact tracing in any state," they wrote.

Over 1,800 terrorist attacks in the first 6 months of 2023 in West Africa

The first half of 2023 saw a surge in terrorism in West Africa, the leader of a regional bloc told the U.N. Security Council, disclosing that over 1,800 attacks were recorded, leading to about 4,600 deaths.

Omar Touray, president of the 15-nation Economic Community of West African States, also known as the ECOWAS Commission, said the victims aren’t just those who lose their lives in the attacks, The Associated Press reported.

Half a million people have become refugees, fleeing their homes due to the violence, Touray said, adding that nearly 6.2 million have been internally displaced.

The region is in the midst of a humanitarian crisis, Touray told the Council, warning of potential future disaster. He noted that 30 million people in the region are in need of food aid. If the international community doesn’t respond adequately, that number could rise. By the end of next month, 42 million people might need help, he said.

Touray pointed to several factors contributing to the insecurity, of which terrorism is one. Others include armed rebellion, organized crime, unconstitutional government changes and environmental crises. Even fake news has played a role.
nternational Christian Concern, a U.S.-based persecution watchdog, sees this spread of terrorism as part of a global Jihad.

Responding to Touray’s disclosure, ICC expressed concerns about Islamic extremists’ aims to enforce extreme Sharia law wherever they conquer. It explained in a statement that this poses a significant threat to Christian communities in the region who are often singled out as targets.

Gender identities pushed by the woke are endless, so much that most people have lost track of how many of them there are. Over 100 sounds about right at this point. But once you defy the science of two genders — a belief still upheld by most Americans — there is no end to how many more genders people may claim to have, or even as what they may identify. For instance, there are people who identify as animals; they are broadly called “furries.”

This is being promoted as part of the “LGBTIQ” community. The media has for some time tried to explain the phenomenon, which apparently differs in nuance among different people, but it does come down to a salient fact: for its proponents, there are no limits to what a person can claim to be.

Protesters, drag performers and at least one adult in a so-called “furry” costume were on hand last weekend for a “family-friendly drag show” that was moved to a local church at the last minute.

The “Pride Prom” event hosted by Grayson County Pride was originally scheduled for May 13 at Pecan Grove Park West in Sherman, located about 65 miles north of Dallas.
Including a “gay” Spiderman holding a rainbow flag — showed up outside the church. Another person held a rainbow flag with the libertarian motto “Don’t tread on me.”

Later in the evening, Sherman police officers were seen escorting drag performers and even a person in a “furry” costume around the location.

A statement on the FUM Sherman website indicated that the church is an LGBT-inclusive congregation: “We are young and old, married and single, gay and straight, liberal and conservative, non-conformists and traditionalists, those recovering from addictions, those still battling addictions, and those whose challenges take other forms.

"Whereas Israel was until recently the one that forged anti-Iran alliances and extensive cooperation in the Middle East and beyond, this situation has been reversed. Pointing to Raisi's trip to Syria that concluded on Thursday, the source saw more worrying signs for Israel. A tweet by the Los Angeles LGBT Center reads, "This year alone, there are over 400 pieces of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation on the books. On Easter Sunday (April 9th), we'll gather in our Sunday Best to show the world what we're made of – and that we're not going back."

The Los Angeles LGBT Center also provided a list of other organizations that partnered with the group to help them create "Drag March LA."

"This Easter, more than 1,000 Angelenos will gather in their Sunday Best for a strut down Santa Monica Blvd," the website states. The US military has “multiple options” if Iran decides to develop a nuclear weapon, the Pentagon’s top general told lawmakers Thursday.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley told a House Appropriations Committee hearing that Iran could produce enough fissile material for a nuclear weapon in less than two weeks, after which it would take several more months to develop a nuclear weapon.



Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl said last month that it would take Iran “about 12 days” to amass “one bomb's worth of fissile material.”

"The United States remains committed as a matter of policy that Iran will not have a fielded nuclear weapon," Milley told lawmakers.

“We, the United States military, have developed multiple options for our national leadership to consider if or when Iran ever decides to develop an actual nuclear weapon,” he said.

On Thursday, Iran's military forces concluded naval drills jointly conducted with China and Russia in the Gulf of Oman that were seen as a major show of military might to its Western foes. According to China's CCTV, the drills included live-fire suppression and strike practice with nighttime communication exercises.

US base in Syria attacked by Iranian proxy forces after retaliatory airstrikes

Iran proxy forces launched about seven rockets targeting a U.S. base in Northeast Syria today in retaliation to the U.S., a defense official confirms to Fox News.

In first assessments, there are no U.S. casualties and no damage to the base near the Al-Omar oil field.

The rocket attacks came after President Biden ordered a series of retaliatory strikes after a suspected Iranian-made drone killed a U.S. contractor and wounded six other Americans on Thursday.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement that the American intelligence community had determined the drone was of Iranian origin, but offered no other immediate evidence to support the claim. The drone hit a coalition base in the northeast Syrian city of Hasaka. The wounded included five American service members and a U.S. contractor.

A Canadian city has enacted a measure to criminalize protests near city facilities amid a growing number of demonstrations at drag queen events held for children at libraries.
The Calgary City Council voted 10-5 to pass a new bylaw last week prohibiting protests near city facilities, known as the Safe and Inclusive Access Bylaw. The policy went into effect immediately.

The measure stipulates that protests targeting any race, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, place of origin, marital or family status, sexual orientation, or income source must not take place within 100 meters (328 feet) of a public library or city-operated recreation center entrances. The measure applies during operational hours and one hour before and after operational hours.

Additionally, the bylaw prohibits protesters from impeding anyone's entry or exit to a recreation facility. The council also amended the term "harassment" under its existing Public Behaviour bylaw to include "intimidation."



Shortly after the bylaw took effect, Calgary Police arrested 36-year-old Pastor Derek Reimer of Mission 7 Ministries and charged him with one count of breaching a release order that prohibited him from being within 200 meters of events involving the LGBT community, according to Rebel News.

Reimer was previously arrested on March 2 after an incident on Feb. 25 where three men forcefully removed him from the Seton Library location of the Calgary Public Library for protesting an event with local drag performers reading to children, according to Fox News.

Earlier this week, the pastor was also issued a 30-day trespass notice after he held a silent prayer session in the Municipal Building to protest against the new bylaw.
"Everyone who is visible, everyone in Canada who is boldly proclaiming Christianity, has become an open target," said Pastor Artur Pawlowski, who serves as pastor of Street Church and Cave of Adullam Church in Calgary,

"Calgary was immune for a little bit from the drag queen perversion — because that's what it is: it's a sick, twisted perversion. ... An adult man who dresses as a woman in a sexual manner and has the urge to do that in front of little children is a pervert, end of story."

Reimer faces charges that include one count of causing a disturbance, one count of mischief, and six counts of harassment under the city's bylaw regulating public behavior, according to Livewire Calgary.

13 People Dead After Powerful Earthquake Hits Afghanistan, Pakistan

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake rattled Pakistan and Afghanistan on March 21, killing at least 13 people and injuring hundreds of others, with strong tremors felt in several North Indian states.

The U.S. Geological Survey put the magnitude at 6.5, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported a 6.8 magnitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was Afghanistan’s Hindukush region, bordering Pakistan and Tajikistan.

Nine of the reported deaths were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. At least 44 people were injured as their homes collapsed, according to the Pakistani disaster management authority.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Twitter that he had ordered the National Disaster Management Authority and other related institutions “to be ready to deal with any emergency” following the quake, according to an English translation.

In Afghanistan, at least four people were killed, including a child, and 70 others were injured in affected provinces, according to Sharafat Zaman Amar, a Taliban-appointed spokesperson for the Public Health Ministry.

“Unfortunately, there could be more casualties as the quake was so powerful, in most parts of the country,” Zaman Amar said, adding that all hospitals and health facilities are ready to save lives.

Twitter users erupt in outrage after drag queens wearing thongs dance for kids

An organization that promotes drag events for moms and babies recently made its social media pages private following controversy over footage of scantily-clad drag performers dancing in front of children.

Videos circulating on social media show a group of moms sitting on the floor with their children as drag artists wearing lingerie dance and perform acrobatics. In one video, a drag artist wearing leather and thigh-high boots does gymnastics while hanging from ropes suspended from the ceiling. Another drag performer seen in the video wears a thong while doing a handstand in front of the cheering crowd.

The event was part of the VAULT Festival, an independent showcase of live performers in the United Kingdom.

“Over the weekend, I was sent some shocking screenshots and videos of a Drag Event at the Honor Oak Pub,” Samuels wrote. “Little did I know, it would get worse.”

“This from a recent ‘family-friendly’ drag event geared towards babies in England,” Libs of TikTok tweeted Wednesday, also sharing video clips of the event.

The group behind the performance, the U.K.-based organization CabaBabaRave, advertised the event as a “show-stopping cabaret interspersed with captivating baby sensory moments.. ending in a RAVE.”

The hosts, Lizzie and Gemma, are described as “Two performers turned mums who were constantly looking to be entertained whilst holding a baby in one hand and a pint in the other.. so CABABABARAVE was born.”

41 more Texas churches leave United Methodist Church amid schism over homosexuality

Another 41 congregations (pro-homosexual) in Texas have officially left The United Methodist Church in response to the mainline Protestant denomination's ongoing debate over its stance on homosexuality.

The UMC North Texas Annual Conference held a special called session on Saturday in which clergy and lay members voted to approve the disaffiliation votes of 41 congregations that formerly belonged to the regional body.

According to a statement emailed to The Christian Post by a conference spokesperson, the regional body "releases these churches with its full blessing," adding that no churches seeking to leave the UMC were denied dismissal.

"Following the day's vote, more than 230 churches in the North Texas Conference remain committed to the mission and values of The United Methodist Church and will continue to help people grow in their love for God; proclaim new life in Christ; serve others — especially the poor; and pursue mercy and justice so people can live whole lives," the statement reads.

More than 1,800 churches successfully disaffiliated from the UMC last year, according to a report by UM News, with hundreds of those departing congregations being located in the Lone State State.

Liberal Christians are pushing the Church of England to abolish gendered references to God from scriptures and services, the Telegraph reported on Tuesday. Describing God as a man, they argue, is a “theological misreading.”

Thus, while orders from the Vatican forbid Catholic priests from blessing same-sex unions, the General Synod of the Church of England is currently preparing for a divisive vote on the matter this week.

TST Health, the new medical services arm of the nontheistic religious organization, will provide telehealth screenings and appointments to provide abortion pills to patients. These services will be provided free of charge as part of The Satanic Temple's "abortion ritual," though patients must still pay for the medications from a pharmacy, which typically cost around $90, according to the TST Health website.

The New Mexico facility will be operated by licensed medical staff and will make its services available to state residents who are at least 17 years old, up to 11 weeks pregnant and medically eligible for an abortion.

Rev. Bingo Allison, a biological male who identifies as non-binary, said God was guiding the 36-year-old into a “new truth” about gender identity, according to an interview with a British newspaper.

Allison, who has a wife and three children, told the Liverpool Echo that a late-night study of Genesis 1:27 and its language of “maleness to femaleness” led to what Allison called a “deepening spiritual experience.”

“I properly felt God was guiding me into this new truth about myself,” Allison was quoted as saying. “One of the things that has kept with my ministry ever since is that transition and coming out can and should be a spiritual experience, as well as an emotional and social and sometimes physical one.

Iran has enough highly enriched uranium to build “several” nuclear weapons if it chooses, the United Nations’ top nuclear official is now warning. But diplomatic efforts aimed at again limiting its atomic program seem more unlikely than ever before as Tehran arms Russia in its war on Ukraine and as unrest shakes the Islamic Republic.

The warning from Rafael Mariano Grossi of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in response to questions from European lawmakers this week, shows just how high the stakes have become over Iran’s nuclear program. Even at the height of previous tensions between the West and Iran under hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad before the 2015 nuclear deal, Iran never enriched uranium as high as it does now.

For months, nonproliferation experts have suggested Iran had enough uranium enriched up to 60% to build at least one nuclear weapon — though Tehran long has insisted its program is for peaceful purposes. While offering a caveat on Tuesday that “we need to be extremely careful” in describing Iran’s program, Grossi bluntly acknowledged just how large Tehran’s high-enriched uranium stockpile had grown.

Muslim militants were suspected in the bombing of a Protestant church baptism service in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) that killed at least 14 worshippers on Jan. 15, officials said.

While DRC officials said at least 14 died and 63 were wounded in the blast in Kasindi, in the eastern DRC, a spokesman for Uganda’s military operations in the DRC, Bilal Katamba, reportedly said it killed 16 people and wounded at least 20 others of the Church of Christ of the Congo (Eglise du Christ au Congo, or ECC).

Officials suspected the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) carried out the attack. The Islamic State claims the ADF, an Islamist rebel group, as its affiliate in central Africa. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying “nearly 20” people were killed, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP), citing the SITE Intelligence Group.

Church elder Paluka Kivugha said two men entered the church building and left a bag, which contained an IED that soon detonated.

“People were just flying in the air and falling down lifeless – it was a painful Sunday, everyone inside was trying to get his or her way out, but some couldn’t because their legs had gone off,” Kivugha told Morning Star News. “The bomb killed children and their parents. I certainly don’t need to tell any of you that 2022 was a very tough year for the economy. It truly was a year when “everything started to fall apart”, and lots of prominent voices on Wall Street are now warning that things will get even worse in 2023.

So there is no hope on the horizon, and higher rates will continue to crush economic activity for the foreseeable future.
And with each passing day, what is happening to the economy is becoming clearer and clearer. For example, we just learned that Salesforce will be laying off approximately 8,000 workers…

Throughout 2022, there was just one historic disaster after another. It seemed like I was constantly writing about droughts, famines, wildfires, hurricanes, giant storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and tornadoes.

Unfortunately, I believe that the 12 months that are ahead of us will be even worse. If you doubt this, just consider what has been happening over the past few weeks.

In late December, a colossal “bomb cyclone” brought a “once in a generation storm” to the Midwest. In fact, the blizzard that we witnessed in Buffalo was the worst storm in the entire recorded history of the city.

Just as we were recovering from that, a mammoth “atmospheric river” slammed into the west coast. Some parts of California received more than four feet of snow, and there was catastrophic flooding in other areas.

Now here we are just a few days later, and another “bomb cyclone” is about to hammer California. According to the National Weather Service, this is going to be a “truly brutal” storm…

These days, it seems like a different disease is making global headlines each week.

A few weeks ago everyone was talking about RSV, and then it was Strep A, and now this week a new “super variant” of COVID is deeply alarming authorities…

Religions are sources of inspiration for the transformation of heart and the ensuing changes of attitude.

 

Mount Sinai is a mountain whose memory and meaning loom large as a place of revelation in the collective consciousness of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and others. As an ancient sacred space, it was the site of prophetic experience, and receiving God’s message, for the prophets Moses and Elijah in all three Abrahamic traditions, and the prophet Muhammed in the Muslim tradition. COP 27 taking place in Sinai can remind humanity of our sacred responsibility to care for God’s creation.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has just announced that China will be “preparing for war”, and that should deeply alarm all of us. Needless to say, nobody is going to be attacking China any time soon. So why would the Chinese need to prepare for war if there is zero chance that they will be attacked? Unfortunately, the answer is obvious. The only reason China would be engaged in a military conflict any time soon is if it chooses to invade Taiwan. The moment such an invasion is launched, the United States and China will be at war. The Chinese know this, but Chinese President Xi Jinping is going ahead with preparations for war anyway…

And it turns out that many officials in Japan also see the need to prepare for a coming conflict with China…

If China were to attack Taiwan, it wouldn’t just have to face a hostile superpower. It would also likely have to confront its longstanding regional rival, Japan. The Iranian regime, which has long argued that it is not seeking to develop nuclear weapons... has lately changed its tone and is boasting that it currently has the ability to build a nuclear bomb.

Biden's new nuclear deal, if reached, will also allow Russia to cash in on a $10 billion contract to further expand Iran's nuclear infrastructure.

Sadly, this still seems to be the legacy that the Biden administration wants to leave: Iran's predatory regime, the top state sponsor of terrorism, armed with nuclear bombs, and an empowered Russia that does not hesitate to use aggression and military force to invade other countries.

US Rushes Nuclear Warheads to Europe, Russia Warns of Response

Russia said Saturday the accelerated deployment of modernized U.S. B61 tactical nuclear weapons at NATO bases in Europe would lower the "nuclear threshold" and Russia would take the move into account in its military planning.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has triggered the gravest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis when the two Cold War superpowers came closest to nuclear war.

Russia has around 2,000 working tactical nuclear weapons while the United States has around 200 such weapons, half of which are at bases in Italy, Germany, Turkey, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Politico reported Oct. 26 the United States told a closed NATO meeting this month it would accelerate the deployment of a modernized version of the B61, the B61-12, with the new weapons arriving at European bases in December, several months earlier than planned.

The UN health watchdog says the number of infections is rising globally

The number of people infected with tuberculosis (TB) has increased globally for the first time in nearly two decades, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

In its report published on Thursday, the WHO revealed that a total of 10.6 million people were diagnosed with tuberculosis last year, with 1.6 million more succumbing to the disease. The latter figure rose for the second consecutive year. The UN health agency clarified that the Covid-19 pandemic had contributed to the spike in TB-related deaths as lockdowns prevented many patients from getting a diagnosis or receiving treatment.

Tuberculosis is a viral and potentially deadly disease, which mostly affects the lungs. Malnourished individuals and those with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk of infection.

The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to formulate threats and dire predictions for the destruction of the State of Israel. The Jewish state, meanwhile, deflects the threats and invokes increasingly aggressive strategies, to do what? Is the ideal regime change, or is all-out war in the offing?

 

I think we have a couple of different issues here. The first is that I believe the entire international community, with very few exceptions, would agree that we wish Iran’s regime would change for a more moderate and reasonable form of government. That’s unlikely, and there doesn’t appear to be much appetite for regime change operations along the size of Afghanistan or Iraq, etc., etc.

But what I think you are seeing is a series of actions that are meant to message to Iran’s senior leadership several things. First, that – if the reports are true, I want to caveat that – that Israel is able to reach out at its time of its own choosing with extraordinary surgical precision and neutralize threatening actors and operational activity by Iran. This sends a message to Iran’s senior-most leadership that if they just stop this activity, Israel stops its operational work.

Likewise, by setting back programs, it actually buys time for diplomacy, which admittedly there’s little reason to be hopeful about diplomacy at present. Lawson argued that “at least $28.5 billion more” was needed to “finance food and agriculture investments to end hunger and fill the huge gap in UN humanitarian appeals.

The UN World Food Program begged the G7 nations to “act now or record hunger will continue to rise and millions more will face starvation” last week, declaring that it had a plan – “the most ambitious in WFP’s history” – requiring $22.2 billion to “both save lives and build resilience for 152 million people in 2022.”

It’s not clear where they obtained that figure, as the G7 countries themselves have said that 323 million people are on the brink of starvation because of this year’s dire food crisis, with 950 million expected to go hungry in total in 2022.

Iran is constructing a vast new network of tunnels at its Natanz nuclear site that could house a massive enrichment facility that would be impervious to bunker-busting bombs and cyberattacks, the New York Times reported Thursday.

The report said that the US and Israel had been monitoring construction at the site for several months, but had refrained from commenting on it publicly, with the exception of a brief remark made last month by Defense Minister Benny Gantz.

“At this very time, Iran is making an effort to complete the production and installation of 1,000 advanced IR6 centrifuges at its nuclear facilities, including a new facility being built at an underground site near Natanz,” he said,

 

“Iran continues to accumulate irreversible knowledge and experience in the development, research, production, and operation of advanced centrifuges,” Gantz said.

“It stands just a few weeks away from accumulating fissile material that will be sufficient for a first bomb, holds 60 kg of enriched material at 60%, produces metallic uranium at the enrichment level of 20%, and prevents the IAEA from accessing its facilities,” he added, before revealing the construction at Natanz.

Jerusalem’s planning must anticipate Hezbollah, Hamas and other Tehran-backed militias aggressively responding in kind if Israel launches a raid into Iran. In all likelihood, before Israel’s air forces could return to Israeli airspace, massive volleys of rocket fire would be hitting the country from Lebanon, Gaza and Syria — and possibly even from Iran itself. Striking Iran’s nuclear facilities would be only the beginning, not the end, of a hot war between Israel and Iran.

Prepared or not, Israel and Washington both appear to be out of time — Iran’s threat is substantial, and it is only intensifying. Until now, Jerusalem’s “war between wars” covert approach against Iran was sufficient to tactically frustrate Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, largely via sabotage and assassinations of key Iranian nuclear physicists. It no longer is — not when HEU is 60 percent enriched. Globalization, which has both fans and detractors alike, is being tested like never before after the one-two punch of COVID and war.

The pandemic had already raised questions about the world's reliance on an economic model that has broken trade barriers but made countries heavily reliant on each other as production was delocalized over the decades.

Companies have been struggling to cope with major bottlenecks in the global supply chain.

Russia's war in Ukraine has raised fears about further disruptions, with everything from energy supplies to auto parts to exports of wheat and raw materials under threat.

Larry Fink, the head of financial giant BlackRock, put it bluntly: "The Russian invasion of Ukraine has put an end to the globalization we have experienced over the last three decades."

"We had already seen connectivity between nations, companies and even people strained by two years of the pandemic," Fink wrote in a letter to shareholders.

But U.S. Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, disagrees.

"I really have to push back on that," she told CNBC in an interview. "We're deeply involved in the global economy. I expect that to remain, it is something that has brought benefits to the United States, and many countries around the world."

4 dead after 7.4-magnitude earthquake hits coast off Japan's Fukushima prefecture

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit eastern Japan late Wednesday night, killing at least four people and injuring over 100 others, and cutting power to millions of homes.

One of the people who died was a man in his 60s who lived in the city of Soma, the local disaster prevention office said on Thursday.
The quake hit off the coast of Japan's eastern Fukushima prefecture, a region devastated by a powerful quake and tsunami 11 years ago that resulted in a nuclear power plant meltdown.

The quake was originally designated 7.3-magnitude, but was upgraded to 7.4 on Thursday.

A tsunami advisory was issued after Wednesday's quake for the coastal prefectures of Fukushima and Miyagi, but was lifted on Thursday morning.

Apple’s ‘pregnant man’ emoji shows just how much trans activists are reconstructing our culture

  Sometimes small things are big indicators. Take, for example, one of the latest additions to the Apple emoji factory: In addition to a “gender-neutral pregnant person” (enjoy figuring out that phrase), the new choices include a graphic of a “pregnant man”. At least, that’s what we’re informed it is. It could also just be a dude wearing a blue shirt stretched over his beer belly, which would a) make way more sense and b) would have been people’s first guess like five years ago.

We now have children’s shows from Blue’s Clues to Spongebob Squarepants featuring trans characters (including, I kid you not, a post-op beaver cartoon character that had a double-mastectomy); cereal boxes for kids teaching them about preferred pronouns; public school lessons on choosing your gender; drag queens reading stories to toddlers; adults insisting that children are entitled to block puberty.

And on the whole “pregnant man” front, we’ve seen an entire media cottage industry dedicated to human interest stories plugging the nonsensical idea that males can get pregnant in order to get us used to the idea. You see, those of us who grew up in a society slightly less insane than this one won’t be persuaded by much of this (unless we’re as detached from reality as, say, Joe Biden) — but the next generation is growing up increasingly seeing this as actual reality.

"Gay Catholics come out, demand the church accept them

A group of LGBTQ Catholics demand the Vatican revise its strict church doctrine to accommodate them

More than 120 LGBT priests, teachers and Church volunteers in Germany have launched an initiative – OutInChurch – and demanded that Catholic higher-ups toss away their long-standing disdain for homosexual relationships and grant them greater freedoms within the Church.

The group said they want “to be able to live and work openly as LGBTIQ+ persons in the church without fear,” including to serve in all Church occupations, even while in same-sex marriages or partnerships. They also urged the Church to revise “outdated statements” on gender and sexuality, oppose “all forms of discrimination,” and allow LGBTQ persons to receive holy sacraments.

 Iran Revolutionary Guards commander says 'revenge' coming for Soleimani strike from 'within' US

Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani urged America to 'deal' with those involved in the attack

The leader of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned that revenge for Lt. General Qassem Soleimani’s death will come for the United States from "within" the country itself.

Soleimani, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Forces, was killed in a Jan. 3 U.S. strike in Baghdad, days after Iranian-backed militia supporters stormed the U.S. embassy in Iraq.

Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani, who replaced Soleimani, spoke during the second anniversary of Soleimani’s death, which Iran has labeled as "martyrdom." Ghaani underscored the republic’s dedication to avenging the general’s death, saying that the "ground for the hard revenge" will come from "within" the homes of Americans.

"This revenge has begun," Ghaani added. "Americans will be uprooted from the region."

The latest attacks consisted of drone strikes by the Iranians on US forces stationed in Iraq. On January 3rd, the two year anniversary of the targeted killing of Iranian terror mastermind Qassem Soleimani, Iranian forces launched two drone attacks on US forces stationed at Baghdad’s International airport.

 

CHINA AND IRAN ON THE MOVE

2022 may prove to be the year that the maneuvering of the last few years blow out into open war. Despite the media’s attempts to paint the Russian/Ukraine conflict as the main theatre, the Chinese Iranian axis continues to be the main event. China has indicated that it will take advantage of the Biden regime in order to take over Taiwan and while Russia may invade Ukraine, Iran will for sure move forward with advancing towards nuclear breakout, thus resetting the Middle East and potentially the world.

A nuclear Iran means that Israel will be forced to attack and that will invite a counterstrike by Iranian affiliated Hezbollah. In fact, Iran does not need a nuclear weapon to lay waste to Israel. The West is boxed into a trap

The United States, as the figurehead of Western thought, is caught in the vice. Anti-Western actors, which are those individuals and parties whose agenda is to dismantle the Western-style of society, close in on all sides of the Western map.

This, the Financial Times reports, is a “dangerous phase” of negotiation. The IRGC Ambassador to London has warned Western powers that the regime “will not accept threats.” The Ayatollah has taken the stance that he will “not let history be repeated” when it comes to the Iran nuclear deal.

“Should the Islamic Republic of Iran collapse, scattered retaliation is a possibility and one threat should not be ignored,” said Christine Douglass-Wiliams, a Jihad Watch expert contributor, and former external advisor to Canada’s Office of Religious Freedom, a now-defunct chapter of Canada’s Foreign Affairs ministry.

“Iran is the seat of Shia Islam and ascribes to Doomsday ideology. The Twelver branch is the largest and espouses that the last hidden Imam, the Mahdi, will appear as promised amid the apocalyptic upheaval on the battlegrounds of infidel blood being spilled,” she explained.

Williams explained that a sudden collapse of the IRGC would likely stimulate retaliation from its many terror branches. This ripple effect would not be silent and could spread globally.
